In doing a business, we should still consider business ethics, because it can influence the decisions that will be made by the manager. In business ethics, firms have several basic responsibilities to the customer, employees, and stakeholders and also to the environment. Responsibility to the customer is included ensuring customers’ safety while use our products. The safety of the customer will be also important as the credibility of our firms.
On the other side, the firms also have to be responsible for the employees, because they are the key of the successful firms. That is why one of the firm responsibilities to the employee is providing their safe working conditions. In here, the firms can give insurance to each employee. Besides that, the firms also have to provide the equal opportunities for each employee. Equal opportunities in here means as prohibition of discrimination based on origin, race, gender or religion. It is important to make the employee fell comfortable while they work. And the third is responsibility to the stakeholder. The firm should make decisions in best interest of stakeholders. They should release accurate information of financial condition. Maintaining a good relation with the stakeholder can help the development of our firm. And the last but not the least is responsibility to the environment. In production process, sometimes we do not give a big attention on the effect the rest towards the environment. The production process and product itself can harm the environment, such as the air pollution, and land pollution. As we know that the condition of our environment is getting worse day to day. So, they should maintain a clean environment in order to get the clean business.
